Neighbourhood Watch New South Wales (NHW NSW) introduced a Neighbourhood Network Program during Covid. Amongst other ideas, they provided a ‘Neighbour Card’ that people could print and deliver to a neighbour whom they thought may be in need of assistance, such as an elderly or disabled resident.

So what can we, as neighbours, do to help? Well, we can:
- check they are OK
- create a social contact with them
- ensure they have what they need, or maybe offer to go shopping for them
- encourage them to stay in contact with children, grandchildren or family
- offer to mow their council strip
- offer to put out or take in their garbage bins
- offer to empty their letterbox
- offer to pick up medication
- provide a cooked meal
- run errands
- take a pet for a walk
- water pot plants
- simply call in for a friendly chat.
