Community Hero

Julia Eagles, Gay Balasubramanian (Joint Coordinators NHW Ku-ring-gai & Hornsby) with Jonathan O’Dea MP

2022 June – Jonathan O’Dea MP presents Gay Balasubramanian with a Community Hero certificate. Jonathan mentions Gay on 07 June 2022 in NSW Parliament (Extract from Hansard):

Mr JONATHAN O’DEA (Davidson)—Community Hero awards celebrate the work of volunteers who contribute to their local communities. On Monday this week I handed a Community Hero award to Gay Balasubramanian of East Killara. Gay helps with the Crime Update eNewsletter distributed by Ku-ring-gai & Hornsby Neighbourhood Watch and has been sharing the role of its Joint Coordinator since May 2021. Gay also helps with quarterly meetings, online issues and other behind-the-scenes jobs. She regularly turns up to crime prevention stalls at community events and represents her local Neighbourhood Watch at Community Safety Precinct Committee meetings at Hornsby Police Station. Gay is an IT professional who uses her skills to prepare the weekly newsletter and maintain the website. She is known as a loving and caring person who wants to keep her community safe. I commend her for the valuable contribution she makes to our local community through Neighbourhood Watch.
