Neighbourhood Watch NSW

Our ‘Links’ page has been updated to include all those for Neighbourhood Watch New South Wales Inc, which includes Facebook page, Facebook group, Twitter, YouTube Channel (we’re jealous!) and Instagram.

Neighbourhood Watch NSW is inviting sponsors, from ‘Community Partner’ level up to the ultimate ‘Diamond Package’. Please ask for the details via their email: admin@nhwnsw.org.au or phone: 0401 384 003 and show your support.

All the local registered NHW groups rely on NHW NSW for insurance cover, in order to continue their day-to-day activities, such as holding a crime prevention stall in a shopping centre. This was previously the responsibility of the NSWPF until a re-reading of the fine print in April 2019 abruptly left groups with no coverage.

Are you a community-minded business? NHW NSW would like to chat with you.

Covid has made us stronger

Covid has made Neighbourhood Watch have a stronger online presence in the community.

How has the Covid pandemic affected you?

Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) has been prevented from holding the face-to-face meetings with the community, with limited delivery of printed newsletters.

However, NHW in Ku-ring-gai & Hornsby has been growing into the online space. Already represented on Facebook, new groups have formed via Facebook pages for NHW Brooklyn and NHW Mt Kuring-gai. Our weekly eNewsletter has been a vital link for many, keeping the community updated with information and warnings about crime in the area, as well as sharing the Facebook posts from our local police at Hornsby police station. The next step is to hold a Microsoft Teams online meeting, enabling residents to join in from the comfort of their safe, warm homes.

Have you any suggestions how we could improve during this difficult time? Please email your suggestions to: NHWKuringgaiHornsby@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
